Episodic readings are collaborative multimedia readings in which writers select no more than 20 minutes worth of work to be read alongside a parallel complimentary (or contrasting) narrative culled from found images.  The writer then reads their work alongside the previously unknown narrative.  It’s adventurous.  It’s fun.  It’s engaging.  Here’s some info from the first one.  We’ll be hosting another soon.

Tuesday, June 22, Ideat Village, New Haven’s independent arts and music festival hosts: The Dirty Pond: Episodic Reading 1.

Anelise Chen: “Life is So Many Olympic Exertions.”

Matt Salyer: “Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome.”

Brian Francis Slattery: “Hyenas Are Born Fighting.”

A program created by Siebren Versteeg will be performed to generate accompanying visual narratives.

G. Zarapanecko will perform improvisational sets between readings.

Drinks and refreshments served.

Read. View. Refresh. Repeat.

Short attention spans welcome.

Tuesday June 22, 2010. 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm.
